What gives you the motivation to come to classes consistently?

I think what motivates me is just how much fun pole is. I’ve never felt like it was a chore or a burden and there’s always something new I need to master.

What surprised you about pole dance and fitness?

What surprised me about pole is really just how challenging it is physically. Pole dancers make it look effortless and it is absolutely not effortless by any means!

One word that describes how you feel after a class?

One word I’d say that describes the post pole feeling would be PUMPED.

How has pole bettered your life?

Pole has bettered my life in numerous ways, but I would say that most importantly it has improved my overall confidence and self esteem. When you have something you’re incredibly proud of, and that you can consistently work towards, it adds so much value to your life and it simply makes you feel amazing. I’m so grateful pole is now a part of who I am.

What’s your favourite class and why?

My favorite class, oddly enough, is probably spin pole now. I say oddly because I used to hate it and how difficult it was/is! Now that I’m a little stronger and have improved it’s definitely made spin a lot more fun. I also enjoy challenges and spin has no shortage of those!

What advice would you give to first time polers?

The advice I would give first time polers would just to be consistent. The more you pole (or anything really) the better you will be! Something will seem impossible for weeks and then suddenly, it won’t be impossible anymore. Working on your flexibility also doesn’t hurt! 😉
