Introducing our amazing student Kelty!

Every month we feature an Aradia Fitness Calgary student who we feel embodies our community of positive, supportive, powerful and fabulous women! For the month of May we are featuring Kelty!  This amazing woman is at the studio all the time and we can’t get enough of her!  The commitment she has and shows is an inspiration to instructors and students alike. She is an absolute joy to have in class, works so hard and always shows support and encouragement to her peers.  Here is her story.

  1. Where are you from?  Hometown?

I am from Edmonton, Alberta.  I moved here July 2008.

  1. Favourite pastime (outside of pole), including any other dancing you do?

Other than pole –  I hike, paddleboard and spend time with my cat named O’Malley.  When I was younger, I was in gymnastics and competitive figure skating.

  1. What do you love most about pole?

Learning and becoming stronger every week! I enjoy seeing the progress I make every week. I also have a lot of fun at class.

  1. What keeps you motivated to come to your pole classes consistently?

The instructors are professional and positive. I always feel welcome each class that I attend.  Becoming stronger keeps me motivated to keep attending. I look forward to learning difficult moves that without strength and practice, I would not be able to complete.  A good friend of mine growing up attends Aradia Fitness Sherwood Park and posts her progress, so she also motivates me to keep going with my training.

  1. What surprised you about pole dance and fitness?

How physically demanding pole is. Pole uses muscles that you do not necessarily train in a gym.

  1. Why should someone join Aradia Fitness Calgary and start pole today?

The Aradia instructors are professional, courteous and respectful.  The Studio is always clean and has open doors to anyone that would like to start pole fitness.
