In our July newsletter, we announced a campaign to donate to the The Legacy of Hope Foundation in light of the multiple announcements about unmarked graves at residential schools. The LHF is a national Indigenous charitable organization with the mandate to educate and create awareness and understanding about the Residential School System, including the intergenerational impacts such as the removal of generations of Indigenous children from their families. The LHF supports the ongoing healing process of Residential School Survivors, and their families and seeks their input on projects that honour them.
From July 1st to 15th, we committed to donate $20 from every sale to LHF, and to also match the final total. We tallied up the number of sales in this period and have made a donation of $2000 to the organization.
